Cantina Tollo Tasting
We were lucky enough to have Domenico Angeloni from Cantina Tollo visit from Italy and chat one on one with people about some of the range at King and Godfree, Lygon Street.
Rocca Ventosa Pinot Grigio
Golden straw yellow with green colour highlights. With fresh fruit nuances and a delicate flowery touch. Full bodied taste, well balanced and well structured. Best served with fish dishes including Sushi, light first dishes, white meats and fresh cheese.
Rocca Ventosa Sangiovese
The wine displays excellent colour for a quaffing Italian Sangiovese – near opaque dark crimson red with dark crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of dark cherries, plum and spice with a touch of leather emerging in the background. The palate is quite new world like with an almost juicy textural quality. Flavours of ripe dark cherry, spice and earth. Soft fine grained tannin structure with aftertaste of ripe black cherry and spice. A very well made everyday drinking Sangiovese
Rocca Ventosa Montepulciano
Ruby red colour with purplish highlights. Bouquet of small red fruit, violet and liquorice. This wine is full-bodied, well structured and well integrated soft tannins.
Aldiano Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOP
Intense ruby red in colour with violet tinges, with vigorous fruity fragrances and hints of sour cherry and berry blended with subtle spicy overtones. The flavour is full and persistent, with an integrated, pleasing tannic feel. Well-suited to succulent first courses with red sauce, roast meats and semi-aged cheeses.
